Hey everyone, you've reached Rachel's deviantart! I graduated from college with a major in English and minor in Japanese, and now I'm going to Japan on the JET Programme.

These days I take photos more than I draw, but I still love to sketch and digitally paint when I have time. As such, I'm not really active here, but you can expect a submission every few months.

Hey guys! Thanks so much for all your support, whether you're coming to see my art for the first time or the 50th I always promise to draw more, but many delays have proven that's not gonna happen, so let's just say I'll work whenever the fickle muse hits me Hope you enjoy!

Long overdue meme/questionnaire from strawberrie-flavour!
1) What started you drawing aka being amazing?
awww o///o I've drawn for as long as I can remember. Pokemon began my anime kick in grade 4 iirc.

2) What are your pet peeves?
Inconsiderate behavior, in whatever form it may appear!

3) Who are your inspirations?
Everyone on deviantart, as cheesy and cop-out-y as that may sound! The very fact that everyone is working hard on their art and sharing things that are important to them inspires me. Also, music, fashion, and landscapes have been big artistic catalysts for me lately.

4) What was the best piece you've ever drew/remembered drawing/had an emotional attachment?
I remember being really proud of mumpo.deviantart.com/art/On-Th… , which is unusual for me – I tend to beat myself up over my art, but this came naturally from start to finish, so I was shocked/really happy.

5) What is your favourite medium to use?
Painter digitally and pencil traditionally

6) What are your impressions of me?
Fun, cute (no matter what you think!), generous, and hard-working not to mention creative!

7) What is your favourite genre in music and musician(s)?
Right now, indie/post-dubstep in the vein of James Blake, Mount Kimbie, and so on. It's the coolest mix of electronic and hip-hop but still grounded in a melody.

8) Share an embarrassing moment.
When I was little and we went to busy places, I mistook other people for my dad a couple of times and tugged on their coats D:

9) What is your favourite animal?
Monkeys, cats, and turtles? I can't choose xD

10) How will you describe yourself in 3 words.
Curious, determined, and thoughtful – this is a difficult exercise!

Oh man, this journal desperately needs updating :')

so it appears I made it through one semester of college! I was going to university last year as a gap year, but now I'm legit attending an institution for 4 years and I'm loving it so far. The first semester put me through the wringer and left me with no free drawing time whatsoever, but I believe it was worth it. I met lots of awesome people, learned a lot, and improved myself in the process I love my school so much it's ridiculous and I'm incredibly happy to be there.

Now that I'm off for winter break, I'm trying to draw as much as I can/as much as I'm motivated to while I still have the time. See the updated art queue below~ I'm ashamed at how long some of the things have been there, but I'll do my best to fix that /o/ no promises or deadlines though, since I seem to work best under absolutely no expectations LOL.

PS: I always think it's funny that the default journal skin is named "Deviant Green" since I'm slightly colourblind and always see it as gray :'D

Wow, you guys! I've gotta say, thank you all so much for your incredible support on my Lightning piece! It blew up so quickly; I never expected to get that many requests to submit it to groups, comments, and favourites for it I really appreciate how quickly you've all responded to it (like "lightning", you could say! HAHAHA), and helped to make it my most popular deviation so far! Can't tell you how how happy that made me

I'm posting from out of town with rather intermittent internet, but I did my best to reply to all the comments. I have a couple of other original things I can submit this week, but I want to stagger them, heh. Maybe if I have time I'll sketch some other FF characters, yeah?
